While we don’t believe in regrets, we asked our featured brides the one thing they would do, if they could do it all again.
Heidi Kim: “One thing I wish I had done is hire a videographer. Luckily we had an amazing photographer who captured the entire day so beautifully, but sometimes we wish we could revisit that day in motion. I would also recommend not stressing so much (which sounds hard, I know)–it’s hard for the day to be anything but wonderful when all of your loved ones are there to celebrate with you! We had so much fun, and it ended up being one of the best days of our lives. The day really goes by in the blink of an eye, so savor every moment!”
Lauren (Packer) Scott: “Have a bridesmaid and groomsmen who will be gangster about the schedule so you don’t have to be. Also, make sure your flowers are in season – especially if you are picky about shades of color. There is a less likely chance there won’t be any curveballs when it comes to wedding week.”
Olivia (Moretto) von Plonski: “It’s so cliché and I remember everyone would tell me the night goes by so fast. It’s not that I didn’t believe them, but I didn’t realize how fast it really does go. Savor every minute. Take a break from the dancing, mingling and drinking, and be present in the moment with your new husband.”
Sandi (Herman) Fangman: “The day of goes by so fast that in reality, you won’t even remember the little details–you’ll be too excited to marry your sweet husband. Try to remember that throughout the planning process but, especially, the late nights the week of your big day!”
Shannon (Carter) Huckabay: “I think my advice is just to remember to slow down and savor the moments with your fiancé. It should be fun to shop around for venues, your dream dress, or whatever appointments they might be. We laughed and ate our way through our cake tasting and loved our engagement picture session so much. It was nice to slow down and savor these moments together. Enjoy the process!”
