Andrea and James met while they were attending college—she was studying at SMU and he was at Penn State. James, a Dallas native, was home during the summer of 2010 and they were introduced by mutual friends. After spending a few years long-distance and not dating, they got back together in December of 2012 and were engaged two months later at the top of the Empire State Building.
For Andrea, the dress came first. “My wedding was really inspired by my dress, which looked to me like something Marie Antoinette would have worn,” she says. The dress had a big bow belt, which led to the cohesive bow details on the invitations, table numbers, cocktail napkins, dance floor bogo, and the gift bags. The cake, made by Dallas Affairs, even had a big, cascading bow. After the details were firmed up and the finishing touches were planned, Andrea and James married on Saturday, May 31, 2014, in front of 160 close family and friends.
