Jesse and Ryan met on the Jewish singles network JDate (a fact in which she Ryan did not want to admit early on). After ending a previous relationship (and at the behest of her mom) she joined the site for what she thought would be a failed experiment. Jesse had also ended a relationship and recently moved from Miami to Dallas. He was conducting his own experiment: are there any single Jewish women in Dallas? After weeks of missed calls, they decided on a date at Common Table. The pair ended up talking for so long that the valet gave up and left her keys at the bar. Jessie told Ryan that she was the “one” a few months later. Aside from admitting that they did indeed meet on JDate and that her mother was right, their relationship has come naturally and easily.

Jesse proposed four days before Ryan’s 31st birthday. Jesse asked her best friend to take her for a day of beauty before her birthday dinner at Perry’s. Jesse picked her up for diner and as they were walking in, he said, “before we go in, I want to ask you something.” When she turned around, he was on one knee. Waiting for the couple at dinner was her best friend, parents and Jesse’s mom and stepfather who had flown in from New York to celebrate.

Ryan graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and studied journalism. She received her Juris Doctorate from Southern Methodist University’s Dedman School of Law. She is in-house counsel for Hewlett-Packard. Jesse attended Dickinson College where he studied political science. He received his MBA from Florida Atlantic University in Sports Management. He is Business Development Manager for C.O.D. Capital, a financial start-up. The couple will marry on March 7, 2015 at Trinity Audubon Center.
