Clif and Molly were set up through mutual friends. At the time, Molly wasn’t quite ready to be dating and she didn’t think she wanted to date him, so she told him that. (Fairly bluntly at that.) Clif was unfazed and still proceeded to persuade Molly with his charm. He asked for just one date to “see how it goes.” They laughed a lot that night and have been inseparable ever since.
Late last August, Clif and Molly drove out to her parent’s lake house for the weekend. The purpose of the trip? Clif was prepared to ask her father for her hand. After the slightly awkward and quiet three-hour car ride (Clif was a tad nervous), they made it to the house to join her entire family. It was a packed house to say the least. Clif immediately spoke with Molly’s father and she felt a sense of relief when her dad whispered, “good for you” in her ear. As the family sat down for breakfast, Clif started to talk to the group about how much he appreciated everyone welcoming him to the family—at which point Molly’s sister started snapping photos—and Molly lost track of what Clif was saying. She turned to him as he got down on one knee and presented her with a ring. When Clif spoke with his father, he offered to send Clif’s late mother’s wedding jewelry. Molly wears the custom designed, vintage three-stone engagement ring that belonged to “one of the sweetest and most charming woman I’ve ever had the pleasure to know.”
The couple will marry October 25, 2014 at the Warwick Melrose Hotel, Dallas.
