A match made in heaven, Kori and James never expected to find each other the way they did. Both “uninterested in looking for love in the typical hotspots,” Kori and James decided to try something new and brave the foreign world of Internet dating. When creating their profiles on match.com, neither Kori nor James had high expectations but were immediately drawn to one another. While the two may have met online, their connection in person was nothing short of electric. “We knew we had something special on the first date when we spent all evening together,” says Kori.
After dating for three years, James decided to plan a trip to New York City in hopes of convincing Kori it was solely for their anniversary. Unaware that this day would change her life forever, Kori enjoyed a picture-perfect afternoon with James as they took a stroll in Central Park. Making this moment truly something to remember, James and Kori climbed to the top of Belvedere Castle. In spite of the incredible view, James focused on Kori, preparing to ask something very special. He then suggested that they have a photo taken with the park in the background and Kori posed only to find James ready to propose. Down on one knee, James asked Kori to be his bride. She, of course, said yes.
Kori attended the University of North Texas and is currently enrolled in a master’s program for counseling and works at a community mental health agency. James studied helicopters at Ocean Helicopters in Florida and works as a corporate recruiter for a merchant services provider. The two will marry on Saturday, November 7, 2015, at Life in Deep Ellum.
