Rachel and Oz met in a geometry class in the ninth grade and Rachel fell fast. In the summer of 2004, the pair started to date. “I remember the moment he asked, ‘Rachel, can I ask you a question? Will you go out with me?'” says Rachel. On her 25th birthday, Oz proposed. It was a simple and sentimental nod to 2004. He asked, “Rachel, can I ask you a question? Will you marry me?” Rachel said yes.
Oz and Rachel said “I do” on Saturday, May 16, 2015, at Lake Highlands United Methodist Church. For the reception at Room on Main, Rachel’s vision was simple elegance. “I wanted to be able to look back on my wedding photos many years from now and not think, ‘Yikes! What was I thinking?'” she explains. She looked to Stems of Dallas to design flowers in shades of peach and apricot with natural greens. One of her favorite parts of the wedding day was when Oz surprised Rachel with a special message–I love my wife–inside the jacket on his custom Alton Lane suit.
