When Jennifer’s best friend asked her to come watch a performance at the School of Rock in Deep Ellum, Jennifer said yes. Her motto? “Never say no to an outing. No matter how early or if millions of kids with loud musical instruments are involved. You never know where love can find you,” she says. And it paid off. She noticed a cute guy working with the kids and she asked her best friend who he was. She found out that he (Carson) was the music director and—most importantly—he was single. He also inquired about who she was and her friend decided to play match maker. After that night, their love grew and they’ve been together ever since.
A year later, the couple set off for a vacation to Vieques Island in Puerto Rico. Jennifer noticed that Carson was acting a little funny on their travel day. “I think I whipped out my mother voice and told him to shape up and have fun because we’re on vacation!” Meanwhile, Carson was a tad anxious as he had packed the diamond ring in the suitcase that was stowed away on the five-seat plane that flew them to the island. Once they landed, Carson could relax knowing the ring made it safely. When they walked into their hotel room, it was full or roses, candles, and a bottle of Champagne. Jennifer really didn’t think anything of it as they had requested something special for their romantic trip. As she was putting her bags away, she turned around and he was on one knee with a ring. They spent the rest of the week in bliss while exploring the island and starting to plan a wedding.
They both attended the University of North Texas. Carson majored in marketing and is a media buyer at Firehouse. Jennifer majored in journalism and works as a creative director at ProPac Marketing. They will marry Sunday, August 16, 2015, at the House of Blues.
