While flowers, lighting, and tinsel do the trick in creating aesthetic pleasure to your special day, words do the trick in creating meaning—and more importantly—tuggin’ on the heartstrings of everyone in attendance. One of our favorite new trends? Working signage and labels with words and phrases in order to give the already special day even more romance and spark. The ideas can range from a cute sign, to a quote on a place setting, to matching the wedding’s theme. If you want to have fun with words and step outside the box of traditional wedding décor, we’ve provided nine interesting ideas so your creativity can flow endlessly. Check them out!

Sara Mulkey and David Hanss used a chalkboard and charismatic font to let guests know how they can share their wedding pictures with social media.

Give little ones a title other than “ring bearer” by giving them an adorable sign to hold, just like Laura Karp and Jonathan Friedman did here.

Kristin Mitchell and Jake Kemp incorporated words onto a meaningful token shared between the bride and her father.

Remember and cherish all the kind words guests wrote to you and your partner on love notes like at Anne Dillavou and Read Castleberry’s wedding.

Or you can use words to match your wedding’s theme. Lisa Spadaccini and Scott Anderson placed literary quotes in different areas, aligning with that of a book theme.

We love how Traci Tiemann and Travis Betts anticipated their lifelong journey as man and wife with lovely promises written on empty wine bottles.

If you plan to have a photo booth at your reception like McCary Wyly and William Gilbert had, steal their idea (don’t say we told) and utilize some fun signs for guests to hold while snapping pics!

Enhance the dinner menu for guests to easily read with some writing on a mirror! Reagan Anderes and Juli Goin had The Cedars Social help in spicing up their reception.

Storie Teague and Andy Cunningham used words to remind all guests upon arrival that the two families are now one. This phrase has been super popular lately, seen in several weddings and on the ever-so-loved Pinterest.
