Melissa and Francois first met when they were hanging out with friends at the W Hotel’s Ghostbar. Over the next two years, the two friends would run into each other at social gatherings, exchange hellos, and trade the occasional text message and email. Melissa says, “Of course the mood was always flirtatious.” After getting to know each other via emails, Francois decided it was time to have their first “hang out.” His birthday was approaching and it is the same weekend as New Year’s Eve. He invited Melissa to celebrate with him. She booked her flight to New York to spend the special time with him and it was the beginning of a new chapter for the couple.
Francois planned the ultimate surprise for Melissa on a trip to Paris for her 28th birthday. They had plans to have a portrait done with scenes around the Eiffel Tower that day. Little did she know that he and the photographer had secretly conspired to plan the perfect proposal moment. During the session, Francois got down on one knee. When she realized he was not posing and he was popping the question, she was in awe. She quickly said yes and they celebrated in the city of love.
Melissa attended The University of Texas at Dallas and completed her bachelors in psychology. She is realtor with DFW iRealty. Francois attended Concordia University of Montreal, Quebec with a background in engineering. He works for Ericsson. They are also restaurateurs and own the local Vietnamese chain Pho Que Huong – Noodle & Grill. They will marry Friday, May 29, 2015 in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
