Mike proposed to Teresa exactly 20 minutes before she left for college graduation in May, so it left them little time to discuss plans. When they finally did, they decided on a destination wedding. “I come from what could be called a ‘modern family’ where he comes from a more ‘traditional family’ so I knew a ‘normal’ wedding was probably not going to be best for us,” Teresa says.
When deciding on a place to marry, they looked to their family’s heritage. Teresa’s family is Colombian and Mike’s family is Swiss and American, so they wanted to pick a place that would cater to both of their cultures. She started “stalking” wedding websites and magazines and kept coming back to the beautiful weddings in Cabo San Lucas. The couple hired Sweet Pea Events to execute their dream destination wedding day. Teresa favorite moment was when she and Mike looked out to the crowd of guests as they danced under the beautiful Cabo night sky.
