When you plan a winter wedding in Dallas, you never really know what you’re going to get. Clear skies and a gentle breeze? A chill in the air? Or a full-blown ice storm? On Lauren and Aaron’s big day on December 7, 2013, it just happened to be one of the biggest ice storms the city has seen. Thankfully, the team of pros that Lauren and Aaron enlisted for their wedding weekend were able to pull it off (even when the rest of the city shut down) and the bride remained calm and collected.
Lauren and her wedding planner at Sweet Pea Events decided on a Nutcracker-themed affair. Table numbers were named after scenes in the famous ballet and the flower girls were dressed like little Sugar Plum fairies. Guests enjoyed mini fried donuts for a late night snack and a hot chocolate station kept guests warm. For the send-off, guests rang bells like those in The Polar Express.
