Chelsea Carpenter of Southern Fried Paper and Maxine Owens of The Southern Table have joined forces with Layered Bake Shop, Ben Q. Photography, and Birds of a Feather Events to open a wedding/event collective in the Design District. What does that mean for Dallas brides? A host of vendors with a like-minded aesthetic are all under one roof. As Chelsea explains, it’s a bonus if a bride wants to use the the collective (which they have dubbed 2524) as a one-stop shop to plan her wedding, but she certainly doesn’t have to. If a bride has a meeting with Chelsea to talk stationery and likes what she sees with Maxine’s floral creations, she can meet with her right then and there making it easy for her to set up vendor meetings in one spot. However, it’s not a package deal. Each vendor operates separately, so a bride doesn’t have to feel pressure to use every one. “It’s more like, we think we all do great work and we would recommend each other, but we want the bride to pick the vendors she likes,” she says.

Chelsea and Maxine decided on a 4,500-square-foot showroom and meeting space in the Design District. The duo gutted the industrial-style warehouse and transformed the space to include unique meeting rooms and work spaces that speak to their different businesses and personalities. Each person has put their special touches on the spaces. “It’s interesting to see the different personalities come out in their rooms. It all goes together because we all have similar taste,” says Chelsea.

Chelsea is also excited to re-launch her line of paper and party supplies in a 350-square-foot retail store at the front of the building that includes thank you notes, greeting cards, wine tags, stir sticks, coasters, and cake toppers. If your shower, engagement party, or wedding is that weekend and you don’t have time to customize, you can pop in and buy ready-to-go supplies. She and blogger Susie O. of Susie Drinks Dallas are also launching a cocktail-inspired line of cards, stir sticks, and a hand-painted desk calendar of seasonal cocktail recipes. 2524 Converse Street. 214-919-0731.
