It was a twist of social-media fate that brought Kristi Noel and Adam Roye together. Well, technically, it brought Kristi’s sister and Adam together first. Adam, a studio musician and recording artist, and his business partner met Kristi’s sis via the magic of the interwebs and the three began recording an album together. When Kristi decided to accompany her sister to the studio one day, Adam was instantly lovestruck. Kristi, however, was cautious—but their friendship quickly grew to phone conversations and inside jokes. During a “friend-zone” hockey game, Adam confessed his true feelings to Kristi, and the pair officially began dating.
A year and a half later, Adam planned to take Kristi on a belated birthday outing to their favorite downtown spot, Klyde Warren Park. Fate had other plans and tried its best to intervene with work events and free concert tickets. But Adam was insistent that they stick to their plan, because he knew something Kristi didn’t—he was going to pop the question that night, with their friends and family hiding nearby to help them celebrate. When they arrived at the park, Adam dropped to one knee, Kristi happily said yes, and they partied with their loved ones into the wee hours.
Kristi, who works as the donor and volunteer engagement manager at CitySquare, and Adam, who does data mining and patient services at North American Spine, will wed on November 22 at Thanksgiving Chapel. The small ceremony will be followed by a fiesta to remember on the rooftop of the historic downtown El Fenix.
