On Texas Independence Day in 2012, Kristin sat down to dinner with a childhood friend. Later in the evening, her friend’s cousin, Joel joined them and the pair hit it off immediately. A few days later, Joel asked if he could take Kristin out to celebrate her birthday. The romantic evening began with dinner at Taverna and dessert atop Reunion Tower at Five Sixty. On new years eve, nine blissful months later, Joel got down on one knee and asked Kristen to spend her life with him.
Kristin, with the help of Bella Flora, filled mercury glass pieces with blush and champagne tinted floral arrangements throughout the Rosewood Crescent Hotel space. They allowed for a few wintry details like fir trees and faux snow to compliment the season and dressed the bridesmaids in plum in a nod to Kristin’s love for Texas Christian University. The couple decided long before their wedding day that they would write letters to each other that they would open just before the ceremony began. Their most cherished memory from the perfect day is reading one another’s words of love, hope and excitement before they said their vows.
