An assortment of styles ranging in silhouettes and fabrics. The store also carries short dresses, plus sizes, and accessories.

Due to the recent weather troubles in North Texas, Winnie Couture pushed back their Frisco location opening date from earlier this week to this Saturday, December 21. (Remember we announced the opening here.) Their phone line isn’t working quite yet, so they’ll accept walk-ins on Saturday! Feel free to drop by the store if you’re out and about and looking for your dream dress. What’s in store? We dropped by yesterday to take a tour with store manager Tara Layden and regional store manager Amanda McClendon, who was in town from the Beverly Hills location.

This gown is one of the most popular sellers from Winnie Couture. The fit and flair gown hugs the waistline and kicks out into a tulle skirt.

My first thought: I was taken aback by how many gowns make up the two Winnie Couture collections. According to Amanda, the store has around 150 gowns in stock, along with 36 additional gowns from the spring collection arriving in mid-January. The store is organized by collection and then by silhouette, making it easy for brides to flip through the racks and find the exact style in the price point she’s after. The Diamond label ranges from $4,000 to $7,000 and features luxurious satin fabrics, texture details, lace, and Swarovski details. The Blush label is the lower price point ranging from $1,500 to $4,000. The fabrics aren’t as high-end as the Diamond collection, but still offer brides a more affordable option without sacrificing style.

Because the store works directly with the designer, every gown can be completely customizable. Amanda explained that a bride could take a top from one gown and a skirt from another and design her own custom gown. Or, she could alter just the neckline or maybe the amount of Swarovski detailing. Once the bride decides on the look she wants, the consultants take 16 measurements and a pattern is made to fit the bride. This option cuts down on alterations and allows the bride to design her own gown.

Designer Winnie Chlomin Lee went to school to study architecture, so it’s not a surprise that structure and fit is her focus. For instance, she completely rebuilt and redesigned the cups in the gowns for the spring collection so that they have a better fit and look. Also cool: she has dressed celebs like Kelly Clarkson and Lea Michele.  2995 Preston Rd.. Ste. 1580. Frisco. 866-350-1348.
