When perusing ideas on gifts for a loved one, an epic proposal, or an over-the-top nuptials, I don’t recommend gathering inspiration from Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. Why? Because you cannot out do the multi-hyphenate power couple who ambitiously attempt world domination, one romantic gesture at a time. In May of 2014, the duo wed at Forte di Belvedere in Florence, Italy in a star-studded, weeklong extravaganza. From the epic proposal at AT&T Park, the rehearsal dinner at the Palace at Versailles, and the lavish flower wall behind the couple’s “I do’s,” the couple’s wedding was done up in a BIG way.
So we can’t help but wonder, what if Kimye would have decided upon the Big D for their wedding destination? We put together a woulda-coulda-shoulda list of vendors that would have matched their wedding style perfectly.
Proposal: Kanye popped the question at AT&T Park with the words “PLEEASEE MARRY MEEE!!!” lit up on the big screen so naturally, AT&T Stadium, home to America’s Team, would be the perfect spot to pop the question.
Rehearsal Dinner: Across from the Joule Hotel downtown, the “Eye” sculpture sits as the central focus to an 11,000 square foot outdoor venue. It’s bold, cosmopolitan, and Instagram-worthy. The perfect venue to kickoff an over-the-top weekend.
Ceremony & Reception: Hotel Crescent Court shines in Uptown with European opulence and Texas-sized scale—an elegant Dallas fortress. The exterior possesses an impressive amount of ornate decor and trellises while the interior boasts ten different types of imported Italian and Spanish marble. We imagine an intimate ceremony in the stunning courtyard gardens progressing into an all-night affair in the grand ballroom and salons.
Florist: Imagine this flower garland multiplied into an expansive flower wall to backdrop Kim and Kanye’s “I do’s.” Few florists master lush over-the-top arrangements like Lucy Diaz of Bella Flora. Their event designs, and rentals from sister company Bella Acento, offer sophistication with a modern edge that would have matched Kimye’s luxurious taste.
Cake: Fancy Cakes by Lauren always demand a “wow” so we couldn’t think of a better fit for Kim and Kanye’s 7-tier stunner.
Photographer: For almost 20 years, Stephen Karlisch has remained a relevant name in the photography industry. His photography is well known in fashion, interior architecture, and the weddings industry which is why this multi-disciplinary photographer would document this multi-hyphenate couple so well.
Wedding Planner: There is one thing Kanye and Todd Fiscus would definitely agree on, “Bigger is better.” Todd Events orchestrates some of Dallas’ swankiest fetes and visually creates events that break all expectation. His namesake company strives for perfection, down to the smallest detail, so we know his large vision would go hand-in-hand with the Wests.
