Diana Barksdale & Brian Losak

Even though Diana Barksdale and Brian Losak both attended Baylor University, it wasn’t until years later that they met through mutual friends. They lived in Houston when they started dating, but work brought them both to Dallas in 2015. Diana works as a dermatology physician assistant with DDA Dermatology, while Brian is a senior vice president for SunTrust Private Wealth in Dallas.

In the early summer of 2016, Brian asked Diana if she wanted to walk around the Dallas Arboretum. “He was trying to be sneaky, so he told me it would be a pretty place to walk around for some exercise,” Diana says.

It was already hot in Dallas by then, so they sat on a bench for some rest. Out of nowhere, Brian dropped to his knee and asked the most important question of all, a total surprise to Diana. Of course, she said yes, and they went back to Diana’s house to find both of their families waiting with champagne.

On Saturday, January 28, 2017, they had their big day at Marie Gabrielle, where their inspiration was garden chic. Diana wanted things to be natural, but not necessarily rustic. “I loved having the greenery of the Marie Gabrielle gardens to go with the ivory and silver colors for a beautiful winter wedding,” Diana remembers.

One of the more unique memories of their wedding day was when their wedding planner, Chloe, went to their house during the reception to bring their black lab Hudson, who was battling cancer at the time, to celebrate with everyone. Since then, he has sadly passed away, but the photos of him with the couple bring them back to that shared moment.

From the lights to the natural feel of the décor and floral arrangements, the day was perfect. To complete the winter celebration, the evening ended with all of their guests lined up with sparklers to send them off.
