The luck of the Irish brought Chloe and Paul together one fateful St. Patrick’s Day. After the St. Patrick’s Day parade in Dallas, the two separately ventured to a bar in uptown with their friends to celebrate properly. Having lost their friends, Chloe and Paul walked around to look for them, but instead found each other. Chloe confessed to Paul, “You’re really good looking and you should get my number,” and it has been love ever since.
Chloe, a graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington, works as a brand manager at The Richards Group. Paul, a graduate of the University of Tennessee, is the Vice President of Sales at BioAmber, a biomedical company. The two share a townhouse with their much-loved mini dachshund, Frisbee.
While vacationing in Aruba, Paul had a night of surprises planned for Chloe. The two started off the night with dinner on the beach at sunset followed by a spontaneous walk along the beach. Smitten by Paul’s romantic gestures, Chloe had no idea that the night’s events were just getting started. While admiring the sunset, Paul turned to Chloe, got down on one knee, and asked her to spend forever with him. Chloe, of course, said, “yes!” To end the perfect night, the newly-engaged couple waltzed into their Ritz Carlton hotel room to find the floor adorned with balloons, along with celebratory champagne and chocolate covered strawberries.
“I’m a big fan of minimalism,” reflects Chloe on the inspiration of her dreamy wedding, held on May 6, 2017. Neutral tones, such as whites, nudes, blushes, and golds accents created the “organic natural feel” Chloe had envisioned. Greenery added in the ceremony and reception space at the Room on Main emphasized the organic look while adding a pop of color to the neutral atmosphere. Chloe acknowledges that the “Room on Main is so beautiful on its own that I didn’t want to overcomplicate it.”
The special addition to Chloe and Paul’s wedding was the inclusion of their beloved dog, Frisbee. To start off the big day, Frisbee calmed the nerves of Paul while cuddling with the groom and groomsmen in couple’s townhouse as the men dressed and prepared for the ceremony. Frisbee went on to join Paul in the “first look” of Chloe in her wedding dress. Paul walked down the aisle with Frisbee’s leash in hand and allowed the pup to stand by his side during the processional. Chloe admits that “she eased my nervousness,” as she held Frisbee while reading her vows.
As a note to all future brides, Chloe suggests, “let go of the control over every little detail once the fun starts.” Chloe believes it is okay, and quite normal, to stress during the planning of the wedding but that it’s important to put the stress aside on the actual day. A bride should construct a detailed ceremony day plan a week in advance along with delegating out wedding day duties, so that on the actual day she can feel relaxed and in-control while allowing herself to have a good time. “It was the little improvisations that really made the day feel like it was our own,” Chloe says.
