Carly and Andrew both attended SMU as legacies, yet the couple’s romance didn’t blossom until after the graduation ceremony. They had spotted each other throughout their collegiate years. It was hard for Andrew to ignore Carly as she stole the show at football games as SMU’s feature twirler. Carly would occasionally spot Andrew walking with his roommate’s gorgeous golden retriever around the campus. Neither made a move until a mutual friend decided to play matchmaker and invited Andrew as his plus one to Carly’s birthday party in 2013. When the two finally met formally, sparks flew and the next chapter of their lives began.
For the proposal, Andrew flew Carly to La Jolla, California, a beautiful city that enamored him, and popped the question. After the tearful proposal, Andrew flew the couple on a red-eye flight to Delray Beach, Florida, to celebrate with Carly’s family. Fittingly, on October 15, 2016, the couple tied the knot in Florida surrounded by their family and friends.
At the reception, an elegant gold and white palette engulfed guests, creating a dreamy beachside landscape for the couple’s celebration. To add another touch of magic to the fairy tale wedding, the bouquet at the wedding is an enchanting tradition for Carly’s family. Every woman who’s caught the bouquet, including Carly’s mother, has gone on to get engaged within the year, spreading the wedding bliss year after year. At Carly’s wedding, her cousin Claire was the lucky recipient of the magical bouquet.
