Brittany and Steffen met during an internship in Dallas. She was attending the University of Austin, and he was studying at Texas Tech University. They parted ways at the end of the internship when they moved back to their respective colleges, but ended up back at the same company for full-time jobs. Their friendship quickly blossomed into a relationship.
A stroll down Knox/Henderson ended in a proposal. “We approached and I notice an arrow hanging on a tree directing us to a path of rose petals he had made which led to a tree filled with Chinese lanterns. He dropped down on a knee and proposed,” says Brittany.
On Saturday, July 9, 2016, the couple married at Royal Lane Baptist Church in front of friends and family, including Brittany’s grandmother who was able to make last-minute arrangements to travel in from Houston. “I’d been asking her for months whether she’d be able to make it and it wasn’t until the night of my rehearsal dinner that it was confirmed that she was on her way. It was such a special moment to have all of our friends and family that we love and cherish in the same place at the same time,” she says.
For the reception at The Carlisle Room, the bride chose to incorporate pink, her favorite color. In fear that the hue could come off as “too girly” she decided to also add in pops of navy and gold. Much to her delight, the palette came together beautifully and it was exactly what she imagined.
