Courtney and Richard have their mothers to thank for the match made in heaven. The two moms met at a nail salon after Richard’s family moved to Courtney’s hometown, Midlothian, Texas. There, they exchanged in friendly conversation until Thanksgiving break when the moms introduced Courtney and Richard at a group dinner. Afterwards, he took Courtney out to meet some of his friends. They hit it off and planned to see each other again over their week-long break. Despite being ten hours apart, the couple developed a strong relationship that outlasted their college years.
Rich proposed to Courtney on Sunset Cliffs in San Diego, California, overlooking the ocean. Just as the sun set, he knelt on one knee and expressed his love for her. They both shed tears of joy as he asked her to marry him. Courtney said yes without hesitation, thinking it was the perfect proposal.
Richard attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, where he received a scholarship for baseball. He graduated with a BA in communications and a minor in business. Now he works at Lindale High School as the head baseball coach. Courtney graduated from the University of North Texas, where she majored in news-journalism and minored in marketing. Currently, she is a news producer at KLTV. The two will marry Saturday, October 22, 2016, at Brookhaven Country Club in Flower Mound.
