Mackenzie Brittingham, the recently appointed president and CEO of the Bridal Salon at Stanley Korshak, brought her own eye for style to the store’s fashion show on June 4.
Models took to the catwalk in the Rosewood Crescent Hotel’s garden room to a soundtrack of upbeat hits. The show included 35 gowns from the bridal salon’s popular brands, such as Naeem Khan, Watters, and Vera Wang. Brittingham also showed some looks from her eponymous line.
Hair and makeup on the models was fresh and rosy, and the youthful silhouettes–mainly ballgown and A-line–were selected with the audience in mind. Several of The Dallas Symphony Orchestra League’s 2017 debutantes, who had been announced the previous evening, lined the runway in ghost chairs.
After dozens of white gowns, the audience got a first look at Brittingham’s custom couture collection. “The quality of my fabrics really inspire me. My gowns are constructed of the finest textiles from Italy, France, and England. For this initial collection I design gowns I would want to wear. Although personally I gravitate toward black, deep reds and royal blues, I am always open to the freshness of brighter colors for my clients,” explains Brittingham. Featuring moody and dark jewel tones, the collection exuded a more mature elegance. Fabrics included Italian lace, faux fur, silk faille, and a recurring navy and green floral. Hi-low silhouettes, architectural shoulders, 2-piece evening looks, and a finale empress ball gown rounded out the collection. Check out the gallery for pictures from the show.
