It was a day like any other. Michelle King headed to her hair appointment with hairstylist Shiva Mazloom, whom she had been seeing for years. But this time, Shiva awaited Michelle with excitement. She recently had an epiphany that she was anxious to share with Michelle: she found the perfect man for her. He was one of her other long-term clients, a man named Rob Joyner. After getting to know the two over years of doing their hair, Shiva knew they were a perfect match.
She told Michelle a few things about him, just enough to pique her interest. Michelle was open to meeting him. A Facebook friend request and a few messages later, a blind date was set.
A little over nine months later, Rob took Michelle out to dinner for her birthday. The two were enjoying a meal at Five Sixty at Reunion Tower, but Rob seemed nervous. Michelle figured it was because he was afraid of heights. Instead, Rob nervously asked, “Michelle, will you marry me? I just love you so much.”
Rob attended the University of North Texas and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration in marketing. He is an account executive at Centerbase, a technology startup company in Dallas. Michelle attended the University of Texas at Austin where she studied nursing. She received her Master of Science in Nursing from Duke University in 2012. She works as a pediatric nurse practitioner in the Pulmonology Unit at Children’s Medical Center of Dallas. The couple will marry Saturday, April 16, 2016 at the Dallas Museum of Art.
